Looking to grow your tribe? We've done the hard work for you.
We've created a list of 15 of the best books on how to build a community that'll give you everything you need to know about spreading your message and connecting with the right people.
Back in Part 1, we looked at the best books for persuading people to become interested in your vision. To read the article, click here.
Here in Part 2, these books show you how to broadcast your vision.
A community can develop into a huge group of people but it might start with only one person, which is why we’ve also added a book on how to build strong relationships.
Now on with the books....
Ted Wright knows there’s no one we trust more than a close friend. When they give you advice about something you know you should listen to them. That’s what makes word-of-mouth marketing so powerful. All you need to do is offer something worth talking about and in Fizz, Ted Wright shows you how.

The 'Contagious' of this book refers to word-of-mouth marketing, not a global pandemic. If people aren’t spreading your message for you, then you’re not going to be able to sustain your audience, let alone grow it. In this book Jonah Berger covers why things catch on, the importance of emotion and that virality isn’t chance, it’s made.

This is a book about direct response marketing, which might sound strange it made it to this list. However as Brian Kurtz says, your work is a vehicle for bringing positive change into the lives of the people you serve. Without the right means of broadcasting your ideas to your audience, they will never hear you. More importantly though, this book understands the importance of building an email list and a large part is allocated to building your audience.

Building an audience requires broadcasting what you stand for. Content is King (or Queen!), which means the best way to spread the word is through your content. Joe Pulizzi shows how to build out your email list by focusing on your values and making your voice stand out from the crowd. For instance, Jon Loomer amassed 50k subscribers in 3 years while others have grown double that in their first year. This book shows you how.

Nathalie Lussier takes you through easily actionable steps to grow your list with a new task every day. She’s worked with thousands of other small businesses to double, triple or quadruple their lists in that time. Nathalie shows you what to focus on first as a priority to kickstart your list building.

Every community started with only a handful of people, maybe even a single person. Keith Ferrazzi and Tahl Raz understand that communities are built on relationships. Before you’re able to command a large audience you need to start building one to one relationships. 'Never Eat Alone' shows that the thing which distinguishes highly successful people from everyone else is the way they use the power of relationships so that everyone wins.
